Personality tests
Personality tests measure a number of aspects within a certain number of personality dimensions. The aspects measured depend on the abilities that the client finds important.
Features:
-
Usually, a series of situations or points of view is outlined and you have to express your preference. This is therefore about how you see yourself. It is a type of self-assessment.
-
There is no time limit, but it is best that you answer the questions at a decent speed.
-
The honesty and consistency of your answers are also continuously checked.
Different types:
-
Normative or free choice of answers:
You indicate in each case to what extent a statement applies to you or to what extent you agree with it. You may then have a choice between e.g. “fully agree - agree - neutral - disagree – fully disagree”.
-
Compulsory or mandatory choice of answers:
This means that you have to make a choice, even if the answer does not fully reflect your opinion. You may, for example, receive 4 statements and have to choose the one that applies to you the most and the one that applies to you the least.
