Specific capacity tests

A specific ability test measures to what extent you possess a certain ability or skill. For example: checking data, accuracy, reaction speed, concentration, manual dexterity, memory and attention, predisposition for routine work, processing administrative data, etc. The difference with intelligence tests can sometimes be small, since certain skills also play an important part in intelligence.

Features:

  • Time bound: You have a certain amount of time within which to complete a number of assignments.
  • Adaptive: The test takes into account your answering behaviour.
  • Standards: Results are compared to those of a certain norm group (same level of education, age, gender, language, etc.).

Different types:

  • Spatial awareness test:
Tests to what extent you can think in terms of space, e.g.: whether you can picture a two-dimensional figure in a three-dimensional space.
  • Technical awareness test:
Tests how well you can solve technical problems, partly by making use of the laws of physics.
